Clinical supervision
Rachel provides supervision in both individual and group formats. She supervises a range of human services workers, including counsellors and psychotherapists, who work in private practice or organisational settings. Rachel also offers supervision of supervision practice. Beyond her own practice, she is involved in delivering training for a variety of professionals in the provision of supervision through Supervision Alliance. Rachel is accredited as a supervisor by the Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia (PACFA) and is a member of the Australian Clinical Supervision Association (ACSA).
Rachel views clinical supervision as a collaborative and supportive relationship. As a supervisor, she is both lead by and guides supervisees to explore their clinical work and different elements of their practice. She supports supervisees in exploring new perspectives, developing and refining skills and enhancing reflexive practice with the focus of providing an ethical, skilled and effective service for clients.
Through the reflective process and a positive relationship, the supervisee’s clinical wisdom can emerge. Rachel’s approach to supervision includes a focus on client work, practitioner development and the impact of systems on the practitioner’s experience. Rachel also offers the use of creative approaches to assist in the reflective process. She is informed in her practice by both developmental and process models of supervision.
